Something about smoking a cigarette with someone you’re in love with can be as sweet as candy and as intimate as a kiss.

Ice and Light (by Em White)

I miss summer. I miss the sun being a good pal rather than a cold acquaintance I rarely see. I miss shorts, and my beloved old flip-flops. I miss swimming, and grassy rest spots under shady trees. I miss iced tea, and music festivals, I miss fireflys.

In case you haven’t been privy to the rap of Joe Raffanti aka Savage Whimsy, Tear It Up, his sophomore release gives you a more in-depth look into a new self-coined genre, Uke-Rap. Gone are the conceits and the concept ideas, this time Whimsy is truly savage on a follow up record that obliterates personal space and although the production values are better, it feels overall more raw. The closer, “A Good Summer” is a great place to start that mixes hip hop and lo-fi techniques. An off kilter beat compliments the frenzied rapping of Raffanti backed by a hilarious Japanese flute this side of the school of RZA. The “hook” melts with bitter sarcasm; I can definitely tell this was not a good summer.

key lyric: “I can call you long distance/from my residence in hell”

herky-jerky

coolest word ever.

is it still called a word if it’s hyphenated?

herk·y-jerk·y  Spasmodic, irregular, and unpredictable, as in movement or manner.

I can’t decide

What to do with this tumblr.

keep it anonymous? or make it true to me.

make it posts of just things i like?

give it a theme?

make it just writing?

make it just thoughts, lyrics, rambling bits and pieces?

or all of the above?

i feel like i can’t keep this up if i don’t even know what it’s trying to be.
